Summary: A fundamental unsolved issue in vaccine design is how neutralizing antibodies and cytotoxic CD8+ T cells cooperate numerically in controlling virus infections. We hypothesize on a viewpoint for the multiplicative cooperativity between neutralizing antibodies and CD8+ T cells and propose how this might be exploited for improving vaccine-induced protective immunity.
